How Ghattamaneni Sivarama Krishna Murthy Become Superstar Krishna

Krishna is born as Ghattamaneni Sivarama Krishna Murthy on 31st May, 1943 at Burripalem of Tenali Dist, AP. He did his high school education in Tenali intermediate in Narsapur, and degree in BSc from Eluru CRR College.Krishna played an active role in various cultural events organized by his college “Cheesina Paapam Kaasiki Velleena”  play brought him critical acclaim, thus encouraging him to pursue acting more seriously, he shared a room with two aspiring actors, Shoban Babu and Murali Mohan during his college days.After graduation Krishna got married to Indira Devi before he entered into films.Ramesh Babu, Mahesh Babu, Padmavati, Manjula and Priyadarshini are his children.Earlier he made films in supporting roles, then Krishna made his film debut, with Tenemanasulu,” which became a big hit and made him an overnight star. Soon Krishna developed as a different trend-setter with films like “Gudachari 116, a cowboy film in “Mosagallkau Mosagadu, James Bond type in “Agent Gopi” “Alluri Sitarama Raju, the first color scope film and others.Superstar Krishna had never looked back as he created history from his first films. He is very experimental and the first ever hero to introduce cowboy and James bond style to Telugu screen. He is very generous and kindhearted that he helped many producers and directors.
In his career Krishna acted in 330 films, 31 in the direction of KSR Das and 28 films in the direction of Vijaya Nirmala.

Superstar Krishna ventured Pad Malaya studios since then he played a key role in Tollywood as an actor, producer, director, distributor and exhibitor as Ajatasatruvu in the industry.
In more than 50 Krishna acted in multistarrer movies. He entered into politics during Rajiv Gandhi period in Congress and even won from the Eluru constituency, but after the death of Rajiv Gandhi, he quit politics.

Superstar Krishna’s 100th film is Alluri Sitaramaraju, 200th film is Ennadu and 300th film is Teluguveera Levara. During this  40 years of his cine life, Krishna became the part of key milestones in the industry.  Also, the first 70 MM film is produced and directed by Superstar Krishna – Simhasanam the first film for Krishna as director.
In 1969, Krishna married his leading lady Vijaya Nirmala and has no children with her but he raised her son Naresh from her first marriage as his own. His First wife son Mahesh Babu is the leading and most charming actor of the present day in Tollywood films.
Today Krishna continues to act in significant roles in Telugu films.
